Context unknown. Preservation: the upper two rows each have four impressions, aligned into rows, with tooth-punch marks in between; one impression in the upper right corner is incomplete; the lower row has five impressions, none fully cut, not aligned with the row above. The top edge shows cutting marks; the other three edges retain the original cast-plate shape. Fineness: 98%. Discovery circumstances: found about 1 m below ground, with fragmentary pottery and fired yellow earth scattered around it. Note: this is currently the largest piece of Ying Yuan gold in any Chinese collection. Per Zhang Pusheng's 1959 article, this piece's impressions are in relief (Ying Yuan impressions are normally incised/intaglio; relief impressions are extremely rare), calling into question the conventional account that the gold coins' markings were branded with an iron stamp; Zhang's article records the large piece's gross weight as 4 liang 8 qian (about 150 g, matching this entry) and the small piece's (the next entry) gross weight as 2 liang 9 qian 1 fen (about 91 g).
