观音寺乡Guanyinsi Township

窖藏，宁淮路工地钱窖一处，出土布币几十枚、蚁鼻钱数百枚，文物部门经多次现场调查仅收到一枚布币及部分蚁鼻钱（数量未逐一记录）；此布币高10、肩宽3厘米，背文"十货"二字饰钱，意为大钱；原文该字作"殊布当忻"，通行释读为"殊布当釿"；盱眙境内此前已出土蚁鼻钱近15公斤（十里营、东阳、王店、官滩等地）及郢爰30余块（河桥、十里营、穆店、东阳等地），此为盱眙境内首次出土楚国布币。中国文物地图集江苏分册"观音寺钱币窖藏"条（134-G3）确认此事件：观音寺镇宁淮路，1987年12月发现钱币窖藏，出土布币几十枚、蚁鼻钱数百枚，布币高10厘米、肩宽3厘米，面文过去都释为"殊布当釿"，图集释读原字为"旆钱当七圻"四字，背文"十货"二字，"旆钱"意为大钱，"圻"同"釿"为计量单位；战国盱眙属楚，曾多次出土楚国货币（《东南文化》1992年第6期）——与本条完全吻合。

Hoard. A coin pit at a construction site on Ninghuai Road yielded several dozen spade coins and several hundred ant-nose coins; despite multiple field surveys, the cultural-relics authorities recovered only one spade coin and a partial quantity of ant-nose coins (not itemized). This spade coin is 10 cm tall and 3 cm across the shoulders, with the reverse inscribed with the two-character decorative mark "Shi Huo" (ten goods), meaning a high-value coin; the original characters were written "Shu Bu Dang Xin," conventionally read as "Shu Bu Dang Jin." Xuyi had previously yielded nearly 15 kg of ant-nose coins (from Shilijing, Dongyang, Wangdian, Guantan, and other locations) and over 30 pieces of Ying Yuan (from Heqiao, Shilijing, Mudian, Dongyang, and other locations); this is the first find of Chu spade coins within Xuyi. The "Guanyinsi Coin Hoard" entry (134-G3) in the Atlas of Chinese Cultural Relics, Jiangsu Volume, confirms this event: Ninghuai Road, Guanyinsi Town; a coin hoard found in December 1987, yielding several dozen spade coins and several hundred ant-nose coins; the spade coin is 10 cm tall and 3 cm across the shoulders. The face inscription was previously always read as "Shu Bu Dang Jin"; the Atlas instead reads the original characters as the four characters "Pei Qian Dang Qi Qi," with the reverse inscribed "Shi Huo" (ten goods) -- "Pei Qian" meaning a high-value coin, and "Qi" being equivalent to "Jin" as a unit of measure. Warring-States Xuyi belonged to Chu, and Chu currency has been found here on multiple occasions (Southeast Culture, 1992 no. 6) -- fully consistent with this entry.
